July's Craft & Current Projects

Hey everyone, it's a little late but the papercraft for July is finally up and you can check it out here. I've been playing a lot of Hyrule Warriors (as usual) in my seemingly never-ending quest for 100% completion, so I thought I'd celebrate the game a little with a model from it.

The reason it was late is because I've been super busy working on cosplay! After pouring in many many hours of work I wore Zant to MCM Comic Con in Manchester. If you're interested in my exploits outside papercraft for things like cosplay, you can follow me on Tumblr. The blog is very personal and informal, though - you have been warned!

As for papercraft, I have a few things in the works. First is a 3D sprites Ness which I made a while ago, and looking at the model now I think it could use a few alterations to make it look a bit better in 3D. I tried to keep as faithful to the sprites as possible, which was difficult as the front and side sprites don't align very well, but I think this meant a few areas look a little flatter than they should in 3D.

I've also been looking into Isabelle from Animal Crossing, which is almost ready for unfolding, but needs a bit more work.

And last, I have a few speculative projects in mind, including a simple Zant from a 3D model built from scratch, an inkling from the Smash Bros. Wii U trophy and a rather large Animal Crossing project I had an idea for a while ago. The idea is to create modular papercraft furniture sets that fit into a paper dolls house of sorts. With Happy Home Designer coming along soon, I think this is an interesting project to pursue.

New site!

Hey everyone, welcome to the new site! It's a bit of an upgrade from the old Blogger platform, which has been inactive for a while. Now I'm back up and running again there shouldn't be any need to visit the old site. All the old crafts (yes, even the bad ones) are right here and all the files are hosted right here too. No need to be re-directed to Mediafire or Google Docs! Just one click to download.

As you might also be able to tell from the millions of buttons scattered around the site, I'm going to be funding these crafts through Patreon. Patreon enables independent artists to keep creating free content whilst giving them financial support - something everyone needs! So please, if you like what I do and want to give something back, consider supporting me.

All the new crafts (which will be coming once a month) will still be posted in a blog format, and you'll be able to access them from the homepage. This blog is for updates, progress & news, and you'll find a link to it in the top bar. Because I'm funding this through Patreon, I'd like to focus more on community and what you want, so remember - requests, feedback, anything is welcome in the comments or on social media.

Look forward to the first craft to be posted from the re-launch - Captain Toad, coming soon!
